Malayali Association Swinburne (MAS)

Malayali Association Swinburne intends to share the vibrant culture of Kerala and the beauty of the toughest language in India, Malayalam.

Welcome to God's Own Country.

“Kera,” which means coconut and "Ala" which means land, is where Kerala, the “land of coconut”, got its name. Named as one of the ten paradises of the world by National Geographic Traveller, Kerala is well-known for its mesmerizing backwaters, ecotourism initiatives, scenic beauty, amazing beaches, and mouth-watering cuisine. Its unique culture and traditions, coupled with its varied demography, have made Kerala one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Kerala is also know as "God's own country". Every nook and corner in Kerala, you will see Hindu temples, Muslim mosques and Christian Churches; and unlike many other parts of India, people live happily without communal riots and great religious tolerance. Hence it is God's own country full of worship places!

The Club seeks to connect Swinburne Malayali students with each other, to make friends and support each other. The club will also act as a wonderful platform for all Swinburne students to gain a better understanding of Kerala and Keralites, our land, culture, cuisines, etc. We also run a range of social and cultural activities, along with fun workshops, webinars, social work and challenges.

So what are you waiting for?
Join MAS today and embark on a journey to the GOD'S OWN COUNTRY!
