FUTSAL
The Futsal players went in to their first match with a tank full of energy from their morning warm-up. They went up neck and neck against Macquarie University in the first half with bits of attack and defence from both sides.

However, Macquarie’s tactics on the court won them the match with a 3-goal lead. There was no lack of thrilling game play, tackles, blocks and freekicks and even a yellow card here and there. The post-match huddle was clear on their strategy for the next game and it showed as the next match went on.

Razorbacks won their match against the University of Notre Dame. The most passionate player by far was Wasam Alhinai with his numerous and heated goals. He played a crucial part in the second game’s victory. Some brilliant saves by goalkeeper Muhammed Karimi cemented the win.

Game 1 v Macquarie University : 1 - 4 Loss
Game 2 v University of Notre Dame: 7 - 6 Win

NETBALL
Playing together for the first time did not hinder the Netball players’ enthusiasm in the game. Despite a loss in the first match, Razorbacks showed a clear improvement in the second one.

The first match ended with the Swinburne athletes scoring 30 and the University of Sunshine Coast players winning the game with 46. But the score did not reflect the sheer effort, support and cheer from the court and the players on the bench.

Razorbacks were determined to win the second one and were able to close the gap significantly in the second half of the game. They played against Edith Cowan University in the second match and at one point the scores were level. By the end, Edith Cowan was able to win the match but only with a 4-point lead.

Game 1 v University of Sunshine Coast: 30 - 46 Loss
Game 2 v Edith Cowan University: 34 - 38 Loss
