Here are a bunch of ways you can mentor and make a difference during your time at Swinburne!
Swinburne Peer Mentoring Program
Remember what it was like when you were new to university life? Did you feel anxious, scared, or afraid? Well, as a mentor for the Peer Mentoring program, you’ll be linked up with a new student to be your mentee, who you’ll offer guidance and friendship during their transition to Swinburne!
Meet up with your mentee either online or face-to-face and share your knowledge or experience and get to know each other along the way.
Mentoring opportunities are available across both semesters 1 and 2.
Recruitment takes place at the start of each semester. Click here for more info and to sign up.
In2Science STEM Mentor Program
Hey STEM students, this one’s for you! Inspire high school students to get engaged with your field of study with the In2Science STEM Mentor Program. You’ll be placed into Year 7-10 classes (virtually or face-to-face) to interact with the class and get them excited about STEM!

VCE eTutoring Program
As a volunteer, you can tutor VCE students at a low socio-economic school and give them a much-needed hand in your specialty STEM subjects. eTutors and students meet online once a week (from the start of term 2) via a secure online platform to share resources and interact via audio, video and chat. This is a great opportunity for you to build upon and practise your leadership and coaching skills, while making a huge difference to the life of a student.

Swinburne College Buddy Program
Buddy up with a new international student and make them feel right at home at Swinburne! New international students are matched with experienced Swinburne students for buddy sessions either in-person or online. These sessions are designed to help international students practise speaking English, make local friends and provide a safe and comfortable environment for international students to ask questions about Swinburne and life in Australia!
Plus, as a mentor, you'll get to make new international friends and learn from them about their culture and traditions. Super fun!
