General Swinburne Student Life queries

Welcome! It's so good to have you here. All current students can take part in Swinburne Student Life's services. Whether you want to join a club, play a sport, volunteer, get involved in leadership, have fun at one of our awesome events or just need a bit of support during your studies, Student Life has you covered. To get started with joining clubs and attending events, create an account here.

 

Make sure you have created your account first - this is separate from your Swinburne accounts. If you already have an account, there’s no need to create a new one, simply use the Forgot Password option OR Contact Student Life at studentlife@swin.edu.au or 9214 5445 for assistance. If you're still experiencing issues with logging in, contact the IT Service Desk on +61 3 9214 5000.

Clubs

Yes, you can! Click here for more info and to fill out a club’s expression of interest form, it will be sent to our Clubs and Sport officers and they will review your request. Please allow at least 2 weeks for approval.

We strongly encourage clubs to get as active as possible! Hosting an event is a great idea. Check out the Event Notification Process to help get you started.

 

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to inform you that this service is currently unavailable.

 

Club Hub drop-in sessions are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm via Zoom. During drop-in hours you can meet with the Student Life Clubs and Sports Officers to discuss club matters. You don't need an appointment, just drop by and we will be more than happy to answer your questions and have a chat. To join, head to this link and use the code 826 815 693 . Volunteering

We would love to have you on board as a Student Life Volunteer! You can check out the kinds of opportunities available here. Submit your expression of interest today and a member of the Volunteering Team will be in touch with next steps.

 

Yep. If you're a registered volunteer logging your hours with Swinburne Student Life, you'll absolutely be recognised for all your contributions! Once you've logged your first 25 hours of volunteering, you'll have access to exclusive (and free!) accredited training courses like First Aid, RSA, and so much more.

Advocacy and Support

Absolutely. If you’re having an issue with your academic progress, or with your experience at Swinburne, you can get advice and assistance from a Swinburne Student Life advocacy officer, which is a free, confidential and independent service. Swinburne assists students who cannot buy their groceries due to severe financial hardship. There is a food bank on each campus accessible via the Finance and Housing team - head to this link for more information.

 

Facilities

Student Life has hooked up Swinburne students with access to a bunch of gyms across Australia that are providing discounted offers for you. Check out the offers here.

So you've heard about the Junction! Sweet place, right? To keep the Junction in tip-top shape, there are a few rules for everyone to follow. Read them here.

Please ring timetabling on +61 3 9214 5540 to check the availability of the space with them. The multipurpose and SR Dance room can be booked through the Clubs and Sports team. Send them an email at clubs@swin.edu.au to book these spaces.

 

If you need a locker, the Swinburne Student Union will be able to assist you. Contact them on +61 3 9214 5440, email them at ssu@ssu.org.au, or visit them at Level 4 of the UN building at the Hawthorn campus (above the bookshop).

 

Please contact Swinburne Security on +61 3 9214 3333, or visit their office opposite the Glenferrie train station, and ask for a swipe card to access the bike shed.

 

The library, bookshop and Swinburne Student Union are the best places to get your printing done. Note this service incurs a fee, be sure to check with them before printing.
