Animal Appreciation Society

The Animal Appreciation Society aims to bring animal lovers studying at Swinburne together and provide opportunities to spend time with animals. Events may include visiting cat cafes, visiting zoos and sanctuaries, and being visited by therapy dogs.

While it’s proven that interacting with animals lowers anxiety and stress and boosts mental health, it’s an unfortunate reality that for many students they need to move away from pets to study. The Animal Appreciation Society aims to make up for this absence by bringing together student animal lovers for social events that involve animal interaction.

Possible events may include visiting cat cafes, visiting zoos and sanctuaries and being visited by therapy dogs.

As the Animal Appreciation Society is so new, we'll need plenty of help getting ready prior to our Inaugural General Meeting (IGM). Please feel free to join our discord https://discord.gg/jmKqM43z3P and help us discuss ideas. :)
