Contact Advocacy

We’re here to help Swinburne students. If our self-help materials do not contain the information you need, feel free to talk to us – appointments are available Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Talking to an advocacy officer is free, independent, and confidential.

So, let’s get in touch!

Complete this online form to request an appointment with an advocacy officer. After we receive your request and will email you within 24 business hours to confirm your appointment time.

The form asks for your information, details of your issue, your preferred contact method and appointment time, and allows you to attach documents that you want us to review.

We use the information provided in the form to learn about you and understand your issue. This helps us review the situation prior to meeting with you so that we’re prepared and ready to offer appropriate advice and information.

We will always try to use your preferred method of engagement with our service (via email, telephone, Zoom or in-person), however, in some cases, we may ask you to engage with us via email until we have sufficient information to determine how we may best assist you.

If your request for an appointment is a sensitive issue and requires an appointment outside our usual hours, please let us know in the appointment request and we will contact you to discuss your circumstances.

If you need to contact us regarding an open case, you can email advocacy@swin.edu.au or phone the Student Life Reception on 9214 5445.

Please note that we prioritise urgent cases, such as unexpected sensitive matters or issues involving Swinburne deadlines; as such, there may be delays in providing updates about your case. Rest assured that we will provide you with an update as soon as we can.

Please note that Advocacy service is only available from Monday-Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. We do not operate during public holidays, or the University shut down period.

If the matter relates to an urgent safety concern, please contact Swinburne Security at 9214 3333 or Victoria Police at 000.
