We're a left wing socialist club for students interested in activism, Marxist politics, anti-capitalism, advocacy, campaigns and more! We also host political discussions about left wing politics, history and theory from a Marxist perspective!
For students who want to be involved in a socialist club to learn more about anti-capitalist ideas and engage in real action to change the world, Socialist Alternative Swinburne is for you!
Join and meet other students engaged in anti-capitalist activism and campaigns for a range of issues such as Indigenous rights, climate action, abortion rights, queer rights, refugee rights, renters rights, and more!
We will be hosting political discussions about the above issues from an anti-capitalist perspective, along with movie screenings about socialist and working class struggles for change! Get involved in educational reading group discussions about Marxism, campaign events to promote awareness about social justice issues and more!
We're a group of students that oppose the politics and actions of the Liberal and Labor parties. Labor are in government right now and they're attacking rights of students, workers, renters and the planet. We think we need to oppose the Labor government, not encourage students to join them. So for students that want to be involved in social change beyond the major parties, get involved today!
If you're the kind of person that joined the Global Climate Strikes in 2019 or attended the pro-abortion protests after the overturning of Roe v Wade, or if you've just wanted to learn more about movements like this, then our club is for you!
