Common FAQS about Nationals

1)Does Swinburne team package includes food or do we have to pay for it separately?
Food is not included in the team package. However, the accommodation will most likely have something for breakfast but will be confirmed at a later date.
2)What are the benefits of winning UniNationals?(except for enjoying what we are passionate about and making friends)( Do we get a certificate or something?)
The potential to receive the best sporting team of the university which normally includes a monetary voucher of some kind (around $100 gift voucher). No Certificate for just general participation. Remember, not to get ahead of yourself. We need to first build a good foundation. Results will be a byproduct of this success.
3)Also does university hold a colours award ceremony or such to appreciate winning sports?
Swinburne Student Life will hold a ceremony at the end of the year for all university clubs and sport teams. This is more general of the whole university.
4)"Flights/ Transport - students to organise and pay individually'' this is only to go from Melbourne to Canberra, right? After that we travel together, right? Do we need to pay again for transportation?
Transport will be organised by each individual. However, after the team is selected on Friday 10th May. The Netball team will discuss travelling logistics together. So no need to worry about this until after the Friday 10th May.
5)Do we have to pay to play the Southern shield as well?
Previous years we have not paid for this registration. I would say to assume it is included with the rest of the team package but to be confirmed.
6)Do I need to come to every tryout to make the team?
No you do not need to come every tryout. But the more you come to, the better chance you have at making one of the teams. However, we all know that your world does not just revolve around netball. If you unavailable for any tryouts, I suggest to email us. This will be noted down as good thing, as this shows good communication and leadership. The earlier the better.
7)Does the Social Causal Sessions count as a tryout?
No they do not count as a tryout with one exception. The Final Session on Thursday 9th May (which is a crossover, will be explained at the tryouts). However, Causal Sessions are the perfect opportunity to improve your overall netballing ability so you have a better shot at making the team.
